What is Windows Certificate Manager certmgr.msc ?

The Certificate Manager or Certmgr.msc lets you see details about the certificate you or your administrator created. It helps us to export, import, modify, delete or request new certificates.The Certificates Manager Console is a part of the Microsoft Management Console.  The MMC (Microsoft Management Console) contains various tools that can be used for managing and maintenance functions. With the help of certmgr.msc you can view your certificates as well as modify, import, export, delete or request new ones. 

How to access Windows Certificate Manager? 

In order to open Certificate manager, follow the steps given below: 

  1. Click Start Button 
  2. Type certmgr.msc in the search field, and click on it. The Windows Certificate Manager will open on your screen. 

Where Windows Certificates are store in computer? 

Windows certificates are stored in local hard drive of a computer. In local hard drive here is the location where windows certificates are stored it is in 

file:\\%APPDATA%\Microsoft\SystemCertificates\My\Certificates you will find all your personal certificates.
